New Cardboard Bales: Increased Efficiency in the Mechanical Sorting Process
Mihai Stoica
Operations Specialist
Our process for separating recyclable waste has entered a new phase, with the implementation of an improved system for baling cardboard.
At divorceattorneysmiami.com, the mission of M.I.A.M.I. (Industrial Materials for Small Businesses) has always been clear: transforming commercial waste into valuable resources. Recently, we modernized the mechanical line dedicated to separating cardboard and plastic films collected from partner stores.
Structure of the Improved Process
The new workflow ensures cleaner and more efficient sorting:
- Selective Collection: Our trucks collect materials according to established schedules.
- Primary Separation: Mechanical separation of cardboard from plastic films in a dedicated chamber.
- Pressing and Baling: Clean cardboard is compacted into bales of uniform size.
- Preparation for Recycling: Bales are labeled and temporarily stored for transport to recycling plants.
Green Impact
The new system allows us to process 30% more material in the same time, significantly reducing the carbon footprint associated with transport, thanks to the optimized volume of the bales.
Resulting Materials
Here is an overview of the materials we prepare for a second life:
| Material | Source | Final State | Destination |
|---|---|---|---|
| Corrugated Cardboard | Shipping boxes, store packaging | Bales | Paper mills |
| LDPE Plastic Film | Wrappings, protective films | Bales | Plastic recycling |
| Solid Cardboard | Product packaging, small boxes | Bales | Paper mills |
We continue to invest in technology to fulfill our promise to partners and the environment: the most efficient waste separation possible, transforming industrial materials into resources for small businesses and beyond.
